The Week After Easter
Last Sunday was filled with the sights and sounds of Easter, the laughter of children hunting Easter eggs, the Hallelujah chorus, and the comfort of the presence of the risen Christ. It was glorious!
Thank you to all who helped to make it possible - including flowers by Fusion, our egg hunt coordinators (Chris Smith Koslowski and Jordan Haimann), the amazing music (thank you Brianna, Dan, and choirs!), Alex for broadcasting and playing during worship, Martha who ran slides and Steve on sound, Hallie in our office who printed 4 bulletins last week, the parents of children who got them there on Sunday, all who attended, and the amazing decorations in the sanctuary done by Pam Lohman. Thank you, all of you!

Thomas, called the Twin, was out when Jesus first showed up to the Disciples. Maybe he was fishing. At any rate, Thomas will not let himself believe the report. He won't let himself even begin to believe that Jesus could be risen. And then, Jesus appears. Come and join us this week as we hear his story.

Sunday, April 27th is the last day to sign up for the Auction! It’s time to hit the road! Please sign up in person on April 27th, or call Denise Karhoff King 630-379-6616 or Susan Friend 630-309-0408 to register. We hope you plan to attend and support our
church’s biggest outreach project. On April 27th, auction bidding and item presales begin in the chapel. Be sure to come in before and after the worship. Silent auction items with bid sheets, along with the gift
card and flat rate priced items, are available for your bidding and purchasing pleasure. Live auction items are available for viewing. You can’t attend the auction event? You can still bid on silent auction items or buy giftcards and certificates, or flat rate priced items on April 27th! Come on down and take a look! The main event is held on Sunday, May 4 in Fellowship Hall beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Church Cleanup Day-Sat., April 26th
There will be a Church Cleanup Day Sat., April 26th at 8:30am. Coffee & light pastries will be served. Please bring rakes, gloves & shovels. Hopefully the weather cooperates.
Card Ministry Upcoming Meeting-Sun., April 27th
Our next meeting will be Sunday, April 27th from 1pm to 4pm in the Card Room at the Calvary building. The focus will be on Mother's Day and graduation cards.
Cards are available for purchase in the racks at the back of the Sanctuary. Price is $2 per card or $3 for 2 cards. All proceeds go to support Kids Above All.
Do you have a special graduate that deserves a special card? We can customize graduation cards in their school colors!
Have a friend or relative with a BIG birthday coming up? We can provide customized birthday cards for 50th, 75th or any number!
Is there a special couple celebrating a significant anniversary you would like to honor? We can customize cards for 50th, 60th, 65th or any special number of years.
Talk to Linda Nystrom or Caron Brennan about customized cards or fill out the form in the card rack.
We will meet on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 1PM to 4PM in the Card Room at the Calvary building. The focus will be on Father’s Day and graduation cards.

A new group dedicated to praying for our congregation, community and world needs will meet every Thursday morning at 9am in the church chapel at FUMC.
Women's Bible Study Group-Thursdays at 1pm
The Women’s Bible Study group chose: Growing Older & Wiser (a Life Guide study from IVP) by Dale and Sandy Larsen as our next study source. This book may be ordered on Amazon. Lessons will occur at 1pm.

Lombard Chamber Farmers Market
FUMC Table-Tues., May 20th
The Lombard Chamber offers a non-profit table at the Farmers Market. Last year we staffed that table 3 times throughout the season.
FUMC will host and staff a table on May 20th from 3pm to 7pm. We need 2-3 volunteers to greet folks, tell them about our church, and adults & kids can play giant Jenga. Bring your refillable water bottle, your smile, and a sense of humor! Everything else you need will be provided. Please see Pam L. to sign up to help!

Men’s Fellowship Railroad Event
Men’s Fellowship Union Railroad Event-Sat.. May 24th
Men's Fellowship is hosting a Union Railway Museum Memorial Weekend Event Saturday, May 24th from 10:00am to 5:00pm. This is open to the entire church congregation. This is a great event for families. Pricing per person is as follows: adults ($20), seniors and youth ($18), children ($16), Veterans and Active Military Personnel and families are free with ID. We would leave the church parking lot at 9:00am if you want to travel as a group. It is about an hour drive. Please contact Steve Flint at mensfellowship@firstumclombard.org. A liturgist stands up front and leads us all as we say our call to worship, opening prayer, and sometimes reads the scripture. They help us all do "the work of the people" on Sunday.

Coffee& is a special time after worship. Help us by preparing coffee and bringing a tasty treat to share. Our Men's Fellowship handles the Second Sunday of each month, and our United Women in Faith take care of the third Sunday.
